First, create the text that you want to animate. Do this using the Text tool, making sure that the typeface, style, spacing and color are exactly as you want them in the finished piece. This is important as they may become difficult to change later on in the process. In this example, IΓÇÖve used the fonts Arial and Arial Black.
Next, you must convert the type to its component lines and fills.
Choose Modify > Break Apart. The individual characters will be converted to shapes on the stage.
